Accommodation

Painted Boat Marina
Please note that the central accommoation at the Painted Boat Resort is now full, and we are making arrangements for registrants who still require accommodation. Please email pennyinsechelt@gmail.com if you still need a place to stay. If you will be driving to the Symposium, please check the list of accommodation providers at the bottom of this page.

The Painted Boat Resort Spa & Marina in Madeira Park will be the hub of our Symposium and the primary accommodation for our registrants, who will share first-class waterfront condos with other attendees. Each unit comprises two bedrooms, each with a queen or king bed and will sleep four (shared beds). Some have a sleeping loft with an additional bed and will sleep six.

Every condo in the Painted Boat is equipped with full kitchen facilities, a covered deck overlooking the harbour, outdoor barbecue, a comfortable seating area with gas fireplace, and free WiFi. Guests will have free access to a gym and hot tub. Complete spa, massage, and manicure services will be available at guest rates.

The Painted Boat is offering special rates for Symposium registrants; the cost per unit per night, in Canadian dollars, based on double occupancy and including all taxes:
Two-bedroom unit, sleeps four (two beds): $257.64
Two-bedroom unit plus loft, sleeps six (three beds): $327.70
Please note: there are no single rooms or single beds. If you wish a room to yourself, your rate will reflect the cost for another person.

The Painted Boat is within easy walking distance of most Symposium venues. Transportation will be provided from the Painted Boat to venues that aren’t close by. As well, we will provide transportation for registrants who are not driving, from the Langdale ferry terminal to the Painted Boat on the opening day, and from the Painted Boat to the ferry terminal on Sunday, October .

As of early May, all the available units at the Painted Boat are reserved, but a number of them have space available on pull-out sofas in the living area. If you would like to be “matched” with other registrants to share this accommodation, please email pennyinsechelt@gmail.com. We will put you in touch with others who still have space to share.

Please note that registrants travelling to Madeira Park without their own vehicles must stay at the Painted Boat. Alternative accommodation is available in the area, but it is not within easy walking distance, and we cannot provide transportation or recommend walking, for reasons of distance, safety, and logistics.
